The forum was the last project / presentation that I'll ever have in UAP. Finally! Makakalis na rin ako sa Pearl Drive! I love it!
The forum was ummm... sort-of on the successful side. For one thing... we had speakers. Until the last minutes (the 2-3 days before), we weren't sure of the MTRCB guy (Mr. Morada) attending the forum... and we weren't even sure if Ms. Dayrit's topic was even connected to the forum topic. But everything fell into place (Thanks to Ms. Lali Suzara... ok fine. Thanks to my mom too :D)
It was really informative... for Ms. Dayrit's topic. It was all about the Film Festival Committee, how they grade films (the grade A and grade B films) and the MMFF outrage over Enteng Kabisote. FYI: The Grade for films are only for the technical side of the film. From what I remember Grade A means 100% tax free and Grade B would be 65%? I think. Anyway, common knowledge that Enteng Kabisote won because of the 40% judging criteria for commercial viability. However, she said that even the judges objected to this criteria... thus, this March (or April) they're holding a Film Summit to talk about stuff that's been happening in the film industry and what they can do about it. I want her job: She gets to watch movies and travel all over to promote films from the Philippines. I think she's in HK now for the HK Film Festival.
Mr. Morada's topic is of course about the MTRCB, ratings and stuff. Anyway... this was the bulk of our topic. He talked about the film 300 and how come it got an R-13 rating when an R-18 rating is more appropriate. It's all about the REDEEMING FACTOR baby! (and maybe all the 8-packs that you see through out the film.. oh so yummy! hahaha) The value of Honor, Trust and sumthing else had more weight than the sensual "oracle" dance, the steamy love scene and all that violence (mehn... WHY DID THE 8-PACK DUDE HAD TO DIE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FILM!?!? the cutest 8-pack of them all.. the son.)
Anyway... blah blah. 25 people came.. at the end of the forum, only 10 people were left... including the speakers, Mrs. Suzara and their assistance. Friends, let us remember: DIZON AUDITORIUM.

I made the poster for the forum (which by the way was the first poster I made... ever):

(I also have this in my deviantart page... yay to shameless promotion of my deviant page)
